People around the world visit Lake Bled renowned for its beauty having seen beautiful photographs of the picturesque island with a church on the Lake. I wanted to stay in a Hotel with views of this gorgeous scene and I found the Hotel Triglav Bled.

Arrival and Check-In to Hotel Triglav Bled
My trip was very hastily planned at the last minute. I wrote to the Hotel requesting for a single room with a view and they responded very promptly. A very good first impression and it continued when I arrived to check-in. The whole process was very efficient and fast. First thing I was relieved to find was an elevator. This might be surprising but its not a given that Hotels in Europe have elevators especially the older ones. My room was up on the second floor.
Hotel Triglav Bled Room
I booked a single room with Lake View. Stepping into the room was like stepping back in time. It was made cozy with the wooden furnitures, some are precious antiques which hide the modern amenities. The safe inside the cupboard where I also found bathrobes and slippers. The mini bar in the chest. The old style lamps contribute to the whole feel of how it must have been in the past.
Weather is not very predictable here but on this fine morning right before dawn was this captivating view outside the window.
The room itself was a comfortable size for a single person. To the credit of the Hotel Staff, everything was very clean.
The shower and toilet was spacious. Toiletries were sufficiently provided.
There was a decent sized television which curiously played plenty of Austrian channels.
There were no coffee or tea making facilities included which would have been nice because this area has drinkable water from the tap and it would have been convenient to make a hot drink in the room.
Hotel Triglav Bled Facilities and Service
Restaurant 1906
Hotel Triglav Bled has Restaurant 1906 on site. The Restaurant catering fine-dining uses fresh Slovenian produce with a French twist.
I had breakfast included in my stay and the small but cozy Restaurant 1906 exuded elegance with stunning views of Lake Bled. There was a menu to choose from and Bread and croissant together with butter, pear spread, walnuts and the mandatory honey was pre-served at the Table.
I ordered the Poached Egg on Toast with Salmon on Day one and the Tofu with coconut curry on Day 2 with a side of Hummus, Lentil and Guacamole. It was very very good! I had a whole jar of Orange Juice and Cappucino to enjoy with the grand views. Life is great when on holiday !
Wellness
Hotel Triglav Bled has a wellness area with sauna and pool. They offer a host of massages as well in case you need more pampering. What I really liked was the solarium near the pool where there were loungers to use to catch the sun indoors in winter.
Other Facilities
The Piano Bar is a cozy place to hang out with fellow travellers. There are cozy corners to sit and chat over drinks. The views from here are over the Lake too. There is a wine cellar as well.
The Verdict on Hotel Triglav Bled
This heritage Hotel is very close to the Bled Jezero train station 180m away. I used the train convenient on one hand. However it is best if you have an own transport for getting around Lake Bled and the surrounding areas.
Overall, the Hotel has an ambience of the glory days gone by. The views over the Lake was the main reason I chose to stay here and I was not disappointed. The Restaurant 1906 has such an elegance and is a pleasure to sit and enjoy the food and views. The experience of staying here was truly elevated by the level of service and helpfulness of the people working there. Both Jurij and Manca who were manning the reception were exceptional and I would definitely stay here again for a peaceful weekend getaway.
