Safety in the UAE
UAE has strict laws and this deters serious crimes in the country. Fines are high also for not observing traffic rules. In general a safe country for tourists including solo female travellers. However, ladies should be aware to dress modestly to avoid any unwanted attention.Â

The United Arab Emirates with its location in the Middle East is fast gaining popularity as a tourist destination. It is after all the midway point between Asia and Europe.Â
Climate of UAE
Desert climate with warm winters and hot summers: hottest months are in July and August and could get uncomfortable. Seeking shelter in air-conditioned malls are common.Â
Official Language of UAE
The official language is Arabic however the native Emiratis make up of less than 12% of the population. You can get by with English in general but also be prepared to deal with non-English speakers (eg taxi drivers)
Official Religion of UAE
The official religion is Islam and it is important to be mindful of your choice of clothing. I have observed that in Dubai people are dressed less conservatively than in Abu Dhabi.Â
Tipping Norms
Tipping is completely up to you. While it is quite common to give a 10-15% tip for service well done, it isn’t mandatory.Â
