Salzburg is a compact city which is very walkable. There are plenty of accomodation options around. One of the best around is really Hotel Stein in Salzburg due to its unbeatable location.
We had the opportunity to stay here after travel was officially open again. There were not so many tourists yet and we got to enjoy the Hotel with not many people around.

Arrival and Check-In to Hotel Stein
Parking is not available at the hotel itself due to its location at the old town of Salzburg. We could stop right in the front of the Hotel for unloading and check-in. The Hotel has paid parking facilities a little bit further away from the Hotel. As soon as we walked in, it was apparent the Hotel is modern and is fringed with luxurious details. The reception area is not very large , the service provided was professional and before long we could make our way up to our suite room.
Hotel Room Suite
The room we got was a Junior Suite with a good size room area. It had also a first class view of the Salzburg old town from the room.
The Hotel room has facilities and toiletries which supports natural ingredients and associates with the Saint Charles brand. The coffee and tea making facilities were top-notch with its on coffee pod brand as well as the famous French Kusmi Tea.
Hotel Stein Facilities and Services
We did not make use of the Hotel Sauna and gym and neither did we take the breakfast option but these are good options if one is looking for some rest and relaxation from sight-seeing. There is a rooftop terrace housing the restaurant “Steinterrasse”. With a perfect location close to all the main attractions in old town Salzburg, the views from here are phenomenal. It looks across the river at the Hohensalzburg and the old town.
The Verdict on Hotel Stein
Hotel Stein has one of the best locations in Salzburg. Located just across the river from the Old Town, there are many shops and restaurants easily accessible. The best spot for sight seeing as it is easy to go back to the hotel for a short rest. Also close by is the Mirabell Gardens. We would definitely stay there again for a city trip to Salzburg.

Good to be able to enjoy the hotel when it was not too crowded. One of the benefits as things slowly open back up. I love when you get both space and a first class view from your hotel room. I recognize that iconic view from the rooftop terrace! Sounds like a great central spot for sightseeing!
That rooftop terrace looks like an amazing place to grab a meal or a drink. I’ve never considered traveling to Salzburg, but now if we do I definitely know where I’ll be staying.
Hotel Stein or Hotel Elephant where should I stay?
I have not stayed at Hotel Elefant but location wise they are both very central and convenient . I obviously like the views from Hotel Stein and it’s very comfortable and modern
