Budapest is known for its baths and its beautiful city. There are the famous thermal baths and most tourists overlook the indoor water theme park – Aquaworld, one of the biggest in Europe. Aquaworld is attached to the family-friendly hotel with different options of room configurations. This is our second visit as we had such a wonderful experience the first time around. It pays to book directly with the Hotel as we got some extras such as a boat trip on the Danube included in the very fairly priced offer. Arrival and Check-In to Aquaworld
We were greeted by a large and grand lobby as we entered. There is a big parking space in the grounds which can fit more than 1000 cars. The reception was friendly and efficient and informed us that we have been upgraded to a superior room. We got a brief explanation on how things work with the Aquaworld access as well as the timings for the Buffet Breakfast which was included with our stay.
Aquaworld Hotel Room
A modern spacious room with comfortable bed, a big balcony with seating. The room was equipped with coffee and tea making facilities as well as mini-bar and complimentary drinking water which was replenished every day. The room had good sound-proofing. The bathroom has spa toiletries which complemented the whole hotel theme. There were bath robes which could be used for going in to the Aquaworld. Overall we felt very well in the room.
Culinary Delights in Aquaworld
The breakfast area was spacious and had plenty of healthy choices , gluten free and vegan options. Importantly it tasted delicious and we enjoyed good breakfast daily. There is a separate section for the kids so they can feel grown up taking their own food. The Hotel even supplied baby food with microwave services for heat-up. The staff were very efficient in clearing the dishes from the table, resulting importantly that guests were using clean plates in the buffet.
The Resort has in total 3 restaurants and 3 bars at guests’ disposal which means one has the option to stay within the Hotel for the duration of the stay. Pleasantly decorated and comfortable chairs makes it nice to go for drinks or enjoy nice cakes and coffee in the Resort.
Aquaworld Facilities and Services
There is no shortage of the good amount of facilities and services here. It is disabled friendly with ramps for wheelchairs everywhere and the spaciousness caters to the ease of moving around. There is a lot to do in the Hotel itself. We like it because we could get a laid-back Rest and Relaxation getaway complete with sauna and spa and then go to the city to enjoy its charms.
We had access to Aquaworld theme park with its numerous pools , saunas and slides too with our stay. Our “watch” allowed us access everywhere.
Oriental Spa
The Oriental Spa houses the fitness center, squash and tennis courts and the wellness center. The wellness areas include the solarium, resting quiet areas, relaxation pools, spa and our personal favourite the saunas. Many different ones to choose from. Not forgetting the offering of different massages to help guests’ forget the stress of daily life.
For the children
We have already established the Resort is family friendly , they follow through with the Boingo Kids Club. Although I have to admit to being tempted I did not join the kids club. We passed it everytime we went to the Aquaworld Water Park and the kids inside look to be having a really good time and the caretakers were making sure the children were kept entertained.
For the older kids or kids at heart, there is the Hollywood Gaming Room which is equipped with dart board, table football, table tennis, pool table as well as x-box. In the Aquaworld there are children pools and slides as well as a surf pool. I have seen cute babies learning to swim at the pool with scheduled classes.
Besides entertainment, the Hotel provides plenty of facilities and services for babies and to my surprise ,even offer baby bathtubs, cribs , prams and a whole lot more useful things – Check out the Hotel website to get the full list. This service is super awesome and its no wonder its filled with local families.
Free Shuttle to the City
The Resort is located about 15km away from the famous Budapest Chain Bridge and they offer scheduled free shuttles to Heroes Square daily at fixed intervals.
The Verdict on Aquaworld Resort Budapest
Its not easy to find anything wrong with Aquaworld Resort – great food, lots of diversified activities in the Hotel, comfortable spacious rooms – all contribute to make the stay perfect for a getaway. The Hotel gets full points for placing priority on making the guests comfortable. The staff is polite and helpful. They see to your needs and are very accomodating to requests.
Additional to the services like massages and spa, there is also a dental care center in the case of getting some dental work done.
The only con I could think of is the distance to the city. They do provide a shuttle service that is cost-free but the timing is not perfect for the people who want to enjoy the night life in the city. Taking a cab back is pretty expensive plus the bus stop is not optimally close by. What we did was to drive our car to the Park+Rides available and take the underground to the city. This works out perfectly as then we could stay till late and keep flexible hours.
All in all I think we will be back for the third, fourth, fifth and countless times to come.

Oooh I love waterparks and I had no idea that Budapest has one of the biggest in Europe. It’s really nice that they offer a shuttle to the city, but too bad that the timings aren’t the best. I’m surprised the hotel provided baby food, I have never heard of that before!

An indoor waterpark? Wow, I have never heard of it and I was in Budapest last year. You’re right, tourists tend to focus on the thermal baths, which are amazing by the way, but this sounds like a hidden gem! The Aquaworld Resort seems amazing even with its F&B offering, the children’s play area and the saunas and spa! The Hollywood Gaming Room sounds cool and the fact that they have a shuttle bus to the city centre is icing on the cake!
Yes, it is a hidden gem that i pondered keeping to myself – but it is really great with lots to do during the stay.
I have long wanted to go to Budapest. I will use this blog to plan my vacation to Budapest. I am delighted to know that the Aquaworld Budapest Resort is pet friendly. The boat trip on the Danube sounds exciting. Glad that they offer the boat ride too. Good to know that they serve gluten free and vegan food. What I like the best is that they provide a free shuttle service to the city.

Ok, I am sold! I am actually going to Budapest very soon and haven’t sorted out my accommodation yet….you sold me! An Inside Waterpark is very appealing to me (especially as I be traveling with toddlers) and the beds look so comfortable. Get me there now!
Oh how exciting – its the perfect time to go and enjoy the warm waters in the park. The saunas are really amazing – every kind imaginable even an ice sauna! Aquaworld is great for family travellers. They offer a lot for toddlers that you don’t have to bring so much from home. Real convenient!

We were in Budapest for 3 days and are sorry we missed a trip to Aquaworld. Even though we did not travel with our family, we love big water parks. I would love to enjoy some time in the Relaxation Pool. It is great that the resort has a shuttle into town. Sounds like a great family resort.
This is very useful tip for family vacation. What’s my priority in planning a family vacation is that first, the accessibility of the place, second, it should be kid- friendly or there’s also something that kids can enjoy;third is the service. I think this is the best I read today; I probably include this on my list.
From the beginning when you entered the spacious lounge and parking that can hold up to 1000 cars, I can imagine how big is this resort. The Relaxation Pool is so inviting. Seems like it’s best to use after spending time at the theme park. I really don’t expect to see this in Budapest though. I thought it’s all old buildings there.
Budapest is so high on my bucket list and this hotel looks amazing!! I have a little guy so I love that it’s kid friendly! I do wish it was closer to the city center but live that they have a shuttle
