Lest our esteemed politicians forget, we the voters go painstakingly to voting centres, come rain, shine, hailstorm or snow to vote for you, so that you can work for us.
Sadly most times it turns out the other way around – it feels like we vote for you so you can make stupid decisions and implement idiotic policies that make our lives go from bad to worse.
Our individual voices are not heard and so we expect you to be our voice – and not to drown our voices out.
Granted, we the public has no all-rounded view on issues and its underlying impacts , that’s where we rely on you to give us accountability for decisions made. We want it explained in terms that we can understand and accept why policies are implemented. Not all will agree , for sure but all will surely understand when the policies are done for the good of the country and not focused on individuals.
To everyone out there who has voting rights , exercise them and make them count. We must use our voices to ensure politicians are reminded that we the people are the foundation of the country and we have the power to make or break you.
