It’s my third time in Prague and we are driving. The requirement is a Hotel with parking facilities. We ended up staying at the Le Palais Art Hotel Prague which was once a mansion located in a quiet district. The elegance inside is emphasised by its high ceilings and chandelier lights. The feature photo shows the cozy library which reflects the design throughout the Hotel. Read on for our experience staying there.

Arrival and Check-In to Le Palais
We arrived right outside the Hotel Le Palais after our check-in time; 3pm. It is possible to stop at the entrance – while we went in to the front desk to check-in. Even though there were no other people, the check-in was not very fast. I had the impression the lady is quite new to the job. We had pre-booked our parking spot at the parking garage.
We received our room key and instructions how to get to the parking garage next door. We headed to the parking and found it to be rather narrow. Before long we got our luggage unloaded and headed up to our rooms.

Le Palais Room
On the way to our room, we passed by the Lobby Bar and a library area as well as the Restaurant. We took the elevator up and saw suites opposite our room. We opened the door to a very spacious room (25 sqm). Stepping in we were greeted by a small foyer area where the cupboards are.

The Bed is comfortable and wide. Temperatures are regulated and the room itself is quiet and faces the garden. What I feel should be included is blackout curtains – we were awaken earlier than we would have liked as it was bright in the room.

There is a coffee machine with capsules in the room and a mini bar – we checked with the Reception and the tap water is drinkable.
The closet is large enough and has a safe as well for storing valuables. A writing desk and chair and a sitting area provided space for placing our belongings. A Flat-screen TV which we had no opportunity to use was available as well.

The bathroom was huge by any standards with a big bathtub. Water pressure is good and the Rituals shower gel has a nice scent. The usual toiletries are included.
Le Palais Facilities
Le Palais Art Hotel has a restaurant where they offer breakfast each morning. We did not have breakfast during our stay , so I can’t comment much. There is a spa and fitness center. Spa, sauna and massages costs extra. Pets are welcome and additional charges apply as well.
We paid about 26 Euros / night for parking . There is an electric car charging station as well which we intended to use. This would have costed a fix 20 Euros extra for a charge. We asked about charging and the Reception told us that it is not a problem and to just inform them to activate. When we wanted to charge the night before leaving, we informed Reception and he activated the charger, we went to the garage just to find out that another car was charging and only one charger was available. We went back upstairs and informed the Reception but he could not do anything. This was a real disappointment and I felt that they could have handle things better.

The Verdict on Le Palais Art Hotel
The Le Palais Art Hotel has a 5-star rating but I honestly could not tell the difference with being in a 4-star one. There was nothing exceptional that stood out. The room was fine and spacious with the usual amenities in place. I mentioned the lack of blackout curtains which woke us up earlier than we would have liked.
We were disappointed with the electric car charging debacle. Mainly I found the charges too expensive both parking and charging – For the price we paid for parking, they could have provided free charging.
What we liked was the location, it was a quiet place but relatively close to restaurants. We walked and found some nice restaurants where we dined each night we were there. The city center where the Astronomical Clock of Prague is 30 minutes away by walking. However there is a tram stop right outside the Hotel with a schedule posted.
