A comfortable place to stay while seeing the sights is important for a trip. Equally important criteria is the location. Hence the Pullman Brussels Midi is perfect in this sense. Due to it being part of the Brussels Midi complex which houses the Eurostar Train Station serving trains from London to Paris and Brussels.
The complex is connected to the Metro Station via the Gare du Midi/Zuidstation stop. Alternatively walking to the city center (Manneken Pis statue) takes around 20 minutes or just as easily grab a frequent Metro or Train for a 4-minute ride to the Central Station. Furthermore you can catch the trains to Bruges and Ghent from here as well.
Arrival and Check-In
Convenience is key here and its one of the main reasons I elected to stay here. Whether you are here with the Eurostar or arrive via train or bus , consequently a few steps away you are at the Hotel. We arrived and left via the Airport Shuttle Bus which has a stop outside the Complex.
The Check-in procedure was efficient , the only thing that needed to be clarified was if Breakfast was included. Even so, the Reception checked us in as a priority then we later got a phone call to the room to confirm with the information where and when Breakfast is offered.
Hotel Room
As soon as we stepped into the Superior Room , I loved the room and its decor. It has my colours : warm muddy gray brown on its walls and overall cozy from the lighting to its choice of furniture. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. We were greeted with complimentary chocolate bar which was so Belgium!
The Bathroom was modern and clean – what I liked is the toilet was in a separate room.
The complimentary Nespresso coffee capsules were a wonderful surprise as not many Hotels offer it. Since we are used to the Nespresso brand, it felt like waking up at home.
Culinary Delights
Our extended weekend stay was with breakfast included and what a treat it was! I noticed the breakfast being on the pricey end. There were a lot of food choices available and juices too. Ranging from cereals to warm food and cold cuts including fresh salmon. On top of that we could even order custom coffee – our cappuccino was superb. The entire breakfast area was as cozily decorated as the room.
Hotel Facilities
The Hotel is classified as Business Hotel and has the pre-requisite Business facilities including meeting rooms and high speed internet. It additionally has a fitness center and a sauna. We did not explore these facilities as we were very eager to see Belgium and what it has to offer!
Although this point is not directly linked to the Hotel Facilities but the fact that it is located in the Brussels Midi complex brought some important conveniences. For example it was raining one evening and while waiting for the rain to slow down we explored the complex and found out it had a lot of coffee places and also food courts! Right next door to the Hotel was a Haagen-Dazs. There were plenty of Shopping opportunities too especially chocolates as a last minute souvenir to bring home.
The Verdict
The Hotel Pullman Brussels Midi is not opulently luxurious and thats ok as it has 4-star status. What surprised me was although it was part of the Train Station and metro hub, it was tremendously quiet. So good is the sound-proofing of the rooms. The facilities were adequate for a Business Hotel.
What we especially liked:
1. Modern Design with separated toilet.
2. Cleanliness of Room and Hotel.
3. Breakfast Choices and Taste
4. Nespresso Machine in room
5. Personal touch with good chocolate Bar.
Most of all we liked and give 5-stars for :
Location! Location! Location!
Wow it’s great to know about a hotel in Brussels that has an airport shuttle! I have not found many hotels in Europe that offer this. The decor in the Hotel Pullman is very nice and modern, looks quite cozy! It’s nice to see they offer a full breakfast and the Nesprosso machine is a great touch!
yes – its a great hotel – but I think its a misunderstanding , they don’t offer airport shuttle but the general stop for it , is just a few steps from the hotel.
Looks like a great business hotel, especially with close access to the metro. Brussels is such a great city, it is nice to have many different options for accommodations. And I think it should be mandatory for every hotel in Brussels to provide a good chocolate bar during your stay!
I love how clean and posh everything looks in the hotel Pullman! And that mini chocolate bar is so adorable! That’s pretty convenient that the shuttle stop is so close by! There’s nothing worse than arriving after a long travel day and having to hike out to your accommodation!
That is super convenient that the Hotel Pullman is in the same complex of the Eurostar Train Station. One of the big factors I look for in accommodation is convenience to transportation. It’s nice that a chocolate bar was included, those little touches always make me happy!
Pullman hotel in Brussels looks modern, with all required facilities and also in a great location. I loved its cozy room and their welcome to guests by complimentary chocolate bar. As it has direct access to Midi station, transporting from here becomes very easy affair.
I love reading the hotel reviews since I always find some special places to visit that way. Hotel Pullman looks very nice and I love the decor in the room. The breakfast buffet looks so tempting… especially because I am just having my morning coffee while typing this. Beautiful photos!
I’m all about a quick and convenient check in process – I’ve never understood why it takes so long to check in at some hotels. Your breakfast there looks delicious, and I like to maintain my workout routine while traveling so I love that there’s a gym there! Looks like an all around perfect hotel.
Hey…. How did you enjoy my city Brussels? Had I known, I’d have come over to meet you! Did you arrive at Charleroi Airport?
Pullman in Brussels Midi is a land mark. Its visible from far, with its very tall structure. I’ve never been in there, so thanks for the tour. How was the breakfast options for vegetarians? I usually find it disappointing in many hotels. How was it here?
Ah ! a Brussels gal … next time I know 🙂 Yes at the Charleroi Airport – I loved the Hotel and would go back in a heartbeat. The breakfast spread had so many options , also for vegetarians. There were lots of fruits offered , which was fantastic and too uncommon in Hotels unfortunately.
This sure looks like a very nice hotel. I’ve been to Brussels a couple of times before but I’ve never, unfortunately, stayed at the Pullman. Will keep this place in mind when I’ll be back in November. Thank you for sharing!
