This year for my birthday I wanted to have a special Hotel experience. I found it and more in Hotel Motto Vienna . It is very new and opened on October 2nd 2021. If you have been reading my blog, you will know that I am really big on location. Hotel Motto is situated on a heritage building in the very central of the famous Shopping Street , MariahilferStrasse ! Read on for more insight into this unique Hotel.

Arrival and Check-In to Hotel Motto
We were in Vienna for just a night as we were heading to the airport the following day. Therefore we left our car at a parking place further away for the duration of our trip. You can read tips on Parking in Vienna on my Vienna blog.
It’s very easy to find Hotel Motto as right next door is the entrance / exit to the underground station Neubaugasse (U3) . We took Bus 14A which stopped right opposite of the entrance of the Hotel. Once we stepped inside, it was like being transported into another era, an elegant one. From the lobby to the elevator , it was clear that the attention to detail was creating the ambience and the experience. Naturally I was excited to see the Room.
We arrived earlier than the check-in time and could place our luggage for storage while we went for lunch nearby. The check in process was fast and uncomplicated. They checked our vaccination status as well which is a good thing.
Hotel Motto Room
I wrote to Hotel Motto before arriving that I would like to look at the unoccupied rooms they have , before deciding the room. I was particular about that I could have things to write about views and the rooms themselves. I did not know it but the Hotel had already prepared the Deluxe room for us.
Then we stepped into a specially designed and beautiful room and all that in a very central location! A real one-of-a-kind experience. I found a hand-written card with best wishes on my Birthday and that was a really nice touch from the lovely and friendly staff !
The bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept in and that is saying a lot. The comforters were perfect in thickness and so was the cIlimate control in the room. The black out curtains successfully blocked out the lights and the windows insulated the room from sounds of the busy street below. Do check out my reel of this on instagram @zeweekendtraveller
The room is equipped with a very good coffee system which we enjoyed tremendously. There is a mini bar. The special part is the Hotel included a d-i-y cocktail corner where guests can mix their own drinks.
The TV has chromecast which we used to continue our last episode of Squid Game on Netflix 😀
Our room was one of the few with balcony. This made our stay over the top , to step out and observe the busy MariahilferStrasse below which is full of life. We even got a free mini-concert of beautiful music from a trio playing strings below.
Hotel Motto Facilities
The Hotel Motto being a city hotel surprised me that it is equipped with a gym, sauna and spa. It does not have a pool which is completely fine. Pets are allowed which is a real plus!
The restaurant at the 7th floor is very popular . You need a reservation at the Chez Bernard . Due to our short trip, we did not manage to visit but the ambience from the outside looks very cosy.
The Terrace on the top floor is another highlight viewpoint of Vienna. It was not open when we stayed there. Make sure to visit it on your stay.
The Verdict on Hotel Motto Vienna
Commonly with City Hotels , the target is to go sightseeing then come back to the Hotel to recover. With the Hotel Motto, it was one of the highlights in Vienna! I wanted to spend more time exploring the details that had been lovingly thought of in the room and around this elegant hotel.
This is just one aspect, the most important is the feeling of coziness and that comfort is a priority when staying here. I had the best sleepover with perfect conditions. We could not have asked for a better location , the transport options were conveniently right on our doorstep.
My verdict : This Hotel is very close to perfection and I have stayed in many. We did not have breakfast or meals here so I am not able to judge on that aspect. We did not use the facilities either on our short stay. Staying in Hotel Motto is like driving a beautiful vintage car powered by a modern engine that is environment friendly. Would I come back ? – With absolute pleasure!
