Seeing the Eiffel Tower is on most if not every visitors’ list when visiting Paris. In order to preserve memories with photos and especially on Instagram, you need the best locations. Here is a guide to the best free Instagram spots of the Eiffel Tower.
1. Up Close and Personal
Plenty of great photo opportunities here especially with the Tower all lighted up. The time is from sunset until 1am or 2am in the summer months.
2. From Champs De Mars
Dawn is a good time for taking this photo as the light slowly brightens behind the Tower.
Taken from the Wall of Peace at the end of Champs De Mars. There is a good frame of the Tower from here.
From the park of Champs de Mars there are plenty of opportunities. I liked the perspective of the tree branches which are bald during winter.
3. With the Carousel of Eiffel Tower
Situated on the cross between Pont d’lena and Quai Branly where lots of Hop-On and Hop Off pass , is the famous Carousel. You can see many a photo of it across the Internet. Here is mine.
4. Across the Seine
Crossing the Pont d’lena Bridge , look back and take a shot including the Bridge itself. Its magical especially at dawn.
5. Trocadero
If you have ever seen wedding photos with the Eiffel Tower , it is very likely taken from Trocadero across the street from the Tower. With its elevated view point , you get an unobstructed view from here. I was here in the early morning and sure enough, plenty of couples posing it up here. Go there and you will see why. 6. Carousel at the Trocadero.
The other carousel at the base of the Trocadero Gardens is also a nice spot for a 2-in-1 shot. Check this out.
7. Pont de Bir-Hakeim
I love this spot , it allows one to get creative with shots of the Tower. I got a shot of the Tower with Boats on the River Seine or my second shot with the statue which I like a lot. The spot is also great for selfies as it has sufficient distance.
Using the steel structure of the bridge to frame the Tower, the old style lightbulb provide additional props for the picture.
8. 7th Arrondissement
The Eiffel Tower is located in the 7th Arrondissement of Paris and the lovely part is you get to play peek-a-boo with the Tower when exploring the rest of the area. Its always a pleasant surprise when you round a corner to see the majestic Tower high above all else. It creates plenty of “soulful” photos in my opinion as you get to capture the Iron Lady among the characterful buildings in that area. When facing the Tower on Champs de Mars, head on to the right side and go along the streets.
9. Basilika Sacré-Cœur
From the elevated position of the Basilica in Montmatre, there is a good overview of Paris and the Tower.
10. Rooftop of Galleries Lafayette
On the top of the elegant Galleries Lafayette, there are up close and personal views of the Opera as well as the Tower and its all for free.
11. Tuileries Garden / The Lourve
Near the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel at the Tuileries Garden is a good view of the Tower.
